BLOGGERS APPRECIATION

After releasing the PARTY Mixtape and taking a 2 week hiatus from the blog, it was only right for me to come back and show appreciation to the BLOGGERS who were a HUGE help to the exposure that project recieved. I know for some it is only an act of introducing their readers to new music but I would like to make it known that I am greatly appreciative for each post, retweet, etc. In this industry it's nothing like recieving support, having a team, who enjoys the music I release. There are a few who honestly do this for the FANS, some are only in it for what it can bring them. I can honestly say I make music for people to listen to, critique, and converse about on the daily. I feel as long as I can record music and you all ask for new material, I will continue to put it out.
The track below just shows a small percentage of MY APPRECIATION to you all who looked out and took time to let others know about Freddie Mac. 2009 was a pretty exciting year for us all, upon entering 2009, rapping was the last thing on my mind, but with the support of a few of you, it's feeling all NEW again and this is how I say thanks.
And I know I know I know, someone is probably left off this track because there are many hip hop blogs out there, these are just the ones I tend to visit daily and also, them rhyming with one another helped out a lot too!
Here you have it! Please listen, download, and add to your site as well. Thank you all once again!!

Official Mixtape Release

Growing up in Mississippi things were limited, this you all know. It had its good times and its bad times like everywhere else in the world. College, well that was one of the good times. I don't have to tell you all about the things that took place in college, we all can imagine, but this is where I first learned about Club Hit Hat 2000. From the first night, I was hooked. My first experience and from there on, it was nothing nowhere else like it. You all have that "Hi Hat" type of club that YOU remember as well so this mixtape is meant to take you make to those times! The partying, the stress free, the letting everything loose and just enjoying LIFE and the fact that we can all HAVE FUN and enjoy it together.

This mixtape is in appreciation to the place that gave me my first chance to get on stage and rock the crowd. It opened doors for me that were so limited in the South, thats why I have come to give back and show where I come from. I want everyone to download this mixtape and just let it play through and let it take you back to when it was fun to listen to music and dance to it. I hope you all take the time to give it a listen and enjoy it altogether.
The mixtape can be downloaded
HERE.

I want to thank everyone who was involved with the project and who has patiently waited for me to release it.

Concept Behind the Mixtape!

Concept Behind Mixtape: Back to 811 Timothy Lane

As the release date for "Back to 811 Timothy Lane" draws near, I sat aside some time to answer a few questions I've been receiving about this project. Please feel free to send any that you also may have to imfreddiemac@gmail.com.

Q1: Where did the name of this mixtape come from?

Well 811 Timothy Lane was the address of the Hi Hat 2000, a club located in Hattiesburg, MS that really defined what a club was suppose to be. It brought us celebrities, all types of parties, events, you name it. It was more than just a place you went to just to party, it was an EVENT each time you entered.

Q2: What do expect this mixtape to accomplish overall?

I feel that the music scene at the moment is really all over the place, usually this would be a bad thing, but it also opens the door for EVERYONE to have a chance to be heard. Its a lot of what I call "being TOO serious" going on as well, meaning, everyone is looking to hear something DARK and DEEP and they wanna be TAKEN PLACES and sometimes people overlook GENUINE GOOD MUSIC while doing so. I want people to just sit back and play these songs track after track and have a GOOD time just ENJOYING the music. This mixtape is a PARTY MIXTAPE, you dont need to try to look SOOO DEEP into every track, just listen, dance, and be worry free.

Q3: Do you feel that this mixtape will make others label you as just a "dance song" type of rapper?

Of course. For those who are hearing me for the first time, Im sure they probably will and thats a chance you take. Im sure there will be people who say, "Oh he's just another Soulja Boy, JKwon, GS Boyz.." but I feel I have more to offer, I've just decided to concentrate more on this club aspect on this mixtape. For those who have been following me over the years, now THEY KNOW BETTER than to think that, but its cool, I'll rock with it for now?

Q4: What or who influences most of your material?

Honestly, I'm influenced DAILY on every current event. I mean artist wise, I'm very influenced by WHOEVER I'm listening to at the moment, this is why I really don't listen to other peoples music other than what comes on the radio. This can be good and bad in many ways but thats how I stay focused. Usually current events in my life has the most influence on what direction I am going.

Q5: What's the biggest misconception that people have about you?

Uuuum the biggest misconception would probably be that I'm not serious about music. i mean, with sooo many things going on previously I didn't have the attention to give the music like I wanted to at the moment, so I may have hit you with a song or two every now and then, I'm just glad the people you like my music stayed around until I really had time to focus on it 100% and now they see the difference.

Q6: Off topic, but what is your favorite tv show?

Anyone who knows me knows that Seinfeld is my favorite show. I have the whole 9 Season Box Set, Monk ash trays, napkin holders, the whole deal. It's kind of a big deal.

Q7: Where do you rate this mixtape with other projects you've done?

Overall I think this project is really nice! I won't say it is BETTER than my last mixtape (The Day The Game Stood Still) all because that one was all around hip hop, not focused on just partying, but I will say this one holds it down at the moment. This is GOOD MUSIC and I cant wait for the world to hear it!

Back to 811 Timothy Lane will be available on Friday, November 20th 2009 by going to www.latenitesocialite.net They will have the ONLY EXCLUSIVE VERSION of the mixtape.
Please support the movement and let me know what you all think of the mixtape.

Thank you all for being patient,

Every now and then a song comes along that you REALLY REALLY LOVE. You love EVERYTHING about the track EXCEPT the people who are rapping on them! LMAO.. Thats where WE come in.. I know this sounds like a pitch for an 80s super hero cartoon but nah, way better.
The good homie @Fuzeb sent me this track a few days ago and when I saw that there was space left on it, I had to no choice but to "Lil Mama" my way into the spotlight. It was only right.
Hopefully you will enjoy it!

FIVE STAR CHICK: MAC MIX

Off the upcoming "Back to 811 Timothy Lane" Mixptape, I decided it was only right to hop on this Five Star Chick instrumental, ONLY showing appreciation for the five star females holding it down. I see yall.. This ones for you, even if you dont have a snapper ;-)

Freddie Mac: Taking it back to 811 TIMOTHY LANE

Im coming down to the last stretch of completing this mixtape!! Being that THIS one consist ONLY of club tracks, I feel its only right to show appreciation for the place that introduced me to the late night scene of Hattiesburg, MS.
The Hi Hat was more than just a nightclub that played music. It was a meeting place, it was a social gathering for the up and coming, movers and shakers of southern Mississippi. There was none before it and there will be none like it in the future.
So with this mixtape, I pay respect to the FIRST PLACE that let me rock the mic and be an MC. As I continue to complete this project, I ask of a little favor from you all, the ones who were apart of this movement. If you have my BB pin, please send me a 10-15 second voice note of what you remember and what you will miss about The Hi Hat 2000. You have until the end of the week to get me this info.

Thanks for being patient,

Freddie Mac

Major shout out to everyone's favorite DJ, DJ Sweat.

FREDDIE MAC: UPDATE

Photobucket
A lot of you that follow me on twitter (www.twitter.com/imfreddiemac) have been asking what's up with the mixtape which I know I have promised you for the last few months as though it seems. The truth is, I chose to go in a different direction than I first started. However, the "CLUB EDITION" is FINISHED and I will still make that one available for download in the next few weeks, you can hold me to that one!! I also have been working on a MORE COMPLETE mixtape which is looking like it should be available in JANUARY of next year, God's willing! I am very excited of the tracks that have been recorded so far and can't wait to let you all check them out. In the next couple of weeks leading up to that release, I will be doing a few things to promote this mixtape so make sure you stay tuned. I will try to make note of it on twitter as much as possible..
Thanks again for all the support!

Some say that I am everything and more.....

Ok.. leading up the release of my "party" mixtape, I will try to do the somewhat impossible. As an artist, things happen, things take place, that some of you would like to know about. Usually, if you're following me on twitter, you know almost my every move, but with only 140 characters, its kind of hard to know EXACTLY whats goinz onzz...

So I will start Monday with a DAILY BLOG (yeah, lets see how long that last) on current events surrounding things I am doing to get prepared to release this mixtape. Whether its fan interaction, give aways, etc..

Being that I am already sooo busy.. this should be fun. So if you all can log on and read an updated blog everyday, then I should be able keep it updated..

There will also be daily questions.. like this:

As a fan, supporter, friend, WHAT ARE SOME THINGS YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO DO? As far as interacting with you all, maybe BLOGTV, maybe another MACWEEKLYRECAP, maybe a SHOW IN YOUR CITY :) (ok, hold up on the last one)

Thank you all again for everything and I need you all to keep me on point!

FEEL GOOD MIXTAPE FINALLY FINISHED

Photobucket

After months of HARD WORK (but I make it seem easy) the "Feel Good Music" Mixtape is completed. Yesterday I finished the last two songs, which leaves this mixtape at a total of 9 songs, also including a few skits and interviews! The tracklisting will be coming soon along with interviews and hopefully videos.
On this mixtape I decided to step away from being SOOOO SERIOUS and just decided to have fun and that I most certainly did. I only worked with 2 producers on this project because they felt the music and where I was trying to take this mixtape.
Many would like to claim this as "dance" music or "club" music but being from Mississippi and growing up around this type of music, it is what comes easy to me. This should be a very nice fall semester, for the schools, students, party people who ROCK with this music and know how to party!
Im sure there will be a lot of backlast on the titles of the songs and the direction I was going with this mixtape, but you can't please everyone.
A listening party will be set up soon once a date is set and everything is in place. It will also be broadcasted live so we can interact and you can voice your opinion.
Once again, I would like to thank you all for hanging in there after numerous announcement of this mixtape being finished, lol. It is completed NOW.

Feeling accomplished,
Freddie Mac

Could this be the start of a NEW Slaughterhouse 'esque group?

Yeah, we've seen them come and go. From those young cats on the corner who spit some of the hottest bars you've ever heard to noticeable groups who had deals but never....... could... quite.... make anything pop off. Recently, we've all paid clost attention to SLAUGHTERHOUSE, the rap group which consits of Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, and Royce 5'9. Lyrics, story-telling, punchlines, you name it, they come with it, and you respect that.. You prolly wont buy there cd when it is finally released, but you will download the hell out of it and let your friends know its that CRACK..
Well here's where the new gunners come into play. Recently I was sent a track by BX's own WillyDope
@WillyDope and Columbus' TravDave @TravDave. Upon hearing the track, I wanted to jump on immediately, PAUSE if applicable. Once they gave me the go ahead, I did. We released the track on twitter and word spread like wildfire, reaching 500 downloads in the first 24 hrs!
This looks like the beginning of something we've seen before. You be the judge!

Joe Budden Padded Room Review

Now I for one, was waiting like hell for this album to come out, since Joey hasnt put out an album since the self-titled Joe Budden, which I copped 2 times! After OD'n off the Mood Musiks and playing the hell outta Halfway House, I was really looking forward to this album but I must say it did let me down to a certain extent. This is not Joe at his best. He has a few songs on the album that really puts you in that certain type of JOEY VIBE but then again most songs are fast paced and him just spitting about whatever he feels.

I am a huge Joe Budden fan and this is in no way to take away from the nice album that it is, but compared to Halfway House, Mood Musik 3, and Joe Budden, it doesnt come close.

"Exxes" is a very nice track, and so is "I Couldn't Help It" and "Now I Lay", but the other songs fell short of making this a classic album. It is good, I can't lie and say its not better than most that are out now, but for me, it doesn't live up to the hype.

I rate this album a 3/5 mics which is above average but not one of the greatest I've heard.

Let me know whatchu think. You can purchase the album at http://www.amalgamdigital.com

2009 is here, NOW WHAT!?

Happy New Year Pictures, Images and Photos

First, I wanna say Happy New Years to all!

We all know RESOLUTIONS come and go, so let me try to hold on to atleast one of mine this year and see how this turns out.

PROCRASTINATION has been my best friend for years now. I swear if I could just stay focused, but you know the routine, something comes up, things get pushed back, nothing ever gets done til the last minute, WELL, I will try to put an end to that this year.

I guess this blog is a START, I've been pushing this back for the longest.

Hopefully I'll keep it up!

Let me know if you all have some resolutions for the new year!

One,

Mac
